At Mom 2.0 Summit, we were treated to a special preview of the Yanni Voices Special which aired on PBS in March. I was so impressed on many levels. The 4 young singers, Nathan Pacheco, Leslie Mills, Ender Thomas & Chloe have such amazing voices. They are beautiful to listen to (and to look at.) Nathan Pacheco even came and sang in person for us! Incredible! And he's a BYU Alumnus like me (and Deb from mumbo jumbo in the photo below.) So that was even more fun...
I think the thing that I really love about Yanni Voices is that Yanni took an opportunity to help these young singers in their careers through his connections. I love it when people help others to make their lives better.
As part of the One2One Network, I received a copy of the Yanni Voices CD to listen to, along with a DVD. I have been listening to it a lot lately. I like it because the music is beautiful and you can turn it up and listen to the words and sing along (well, I only sing along with the songs that are in English--there are no French songs-my 2nd language. The non-english songs have a latin flair.) I can also turn it down and it makes nice background music. My favorite "voices" from this CD are Nathan Pacheco and Leslie Mills. Nathan has a strong operatic voice and you can tell that he sings from his heart. Leslie's song Before the Night Ends is so clear and beautiful. I tend to stop what I'm doing and just listen--she is mesmerizing.

ReplyDeleteThat's cool. What's not to like about Yanni?
ReplyDeleteWell, my newest CD purchase is country artist Sara Evans "Real Fine Place." Robyn I don't know if you are the country type but perhaps if you really want to branch out... :)
Awesome! I remember you told me about them. I'm loving priscilla ahn's "Dream" lately. It's the first song of the playlist at www.oldredbarnco.blogspot.com I downloaded the whole album. It's lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, and I subscribe in my reader....
ReplyDeleteand I just hit follow - but isn't it the same thing?
I love lots of artists and lots of songs but I have to admit to my all time favs... the Beatles. Did they even have a bad song?
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite song is a unique arrangement of "Thomas the Tank Engine" performed by Jensen, an up-and-coming vocalist out of Utah suburbia
ReplyDeleteI would have to concure with Migaloo about Jensen as one not to miss. I will add, however, Lights, she's sweet and I really enjoy her Youtube vidblogs.
