31 cent scoop night at Baskin Robbins!

I am blogging about ice cream this week! Baskin-Robbins third annual 31 Cent Scoop Night will be held on Wednesday April 29 from 5 – 10 p.m. All 2.5 oz. scoops of ice cream are only 31 cents! I see London, I see France...

I see the cutest Francie Pants! I la la love Francie Pants and so do my daughters! I met the amazing Ciaran Blumenfeld at (where else?) Mom 2.0. I had read about Francie pants before I went and knew she would be there so I was planning on tracking her down and buying some Francie Pants for my girls. So I was surprised when she just gave me a pair for each of my girly girls! My daughters love to wear them.



So, what are Francie Pants? They are cute little shorts for your daughter to wear under her skirts and dresses or over her leotard to keep her modest! I just love saying Francie Pants. It rolls off the tongue. We have already purchased two more pairs and I think that I will need to buy even more soon.

EcoTools Make-up brushes Giveaway

I have never been a big make-up user. I like the natural look. I also like to think that I am still 16 and truly have no need for make up. The truth of the matter is I am 20 years beyond 16 and my skin needs a little more attention, but I still like for it to look like I don't wear makeup, while still looking fabulous. A couple years ago, my sister gave me an extra container of Bare Escentuals Clear Radiance Powder that she wasn't using. I fell in love with Bare Escentuals . It gives your skin a nice even look without looking like you are wearing a ton of makeup. I bought myself a cheap-o set of brushes from Wal-Mart which I thought were doing the job just fine. Boy was I WRONG!

At the Mom 2.0 Summit, One of the items of swag in my bag was EcoTools recycled retactable kabuki brush. I fell in love and I just found out that I can buy them online at Target--I'll have to check my local store too. Because my cheap-o Walmart brush hasn't been touched by me in the last 2 months. I've decided my daughters can use it when they are playing dress-up and pretending to put on make-up.

Grotto Giveaway: Yanni Voices

At Mom 2.0 Summit, we were treated to a special preview of the Yanni Voices Special which aired on PBS in March. I was so impressed on many levels. The 4 young singers, Nathan Pacheco, Leslie Mills, Ender Thomas & Chloe have such amazing voices. They are beautiful to listen to (and to look at.) Nathan Pacheco even came and sang in person for us! Incredible! And he's a BYU Alumnus like me (and Deb from mumbo jumbo in the photo below.) So that was even more fun...





I think the thing that I really love about Yanni Voices is that Yanni took an opportunity to help these young singers in their careers through his connections. I love it when people help others to make their lives better.

As part of the One2One Network, I received a copy of the Yanni Voices CD to listen to, along with a DVD. I have been listening to it a lot lately. I like it because the music is beautiful and you can turn it up and listen to the words and sing along (well, I only sing along with the songs that are in English--there are no French songs-my 2nd language. The non-english songs have a latin flair.) I can also turn it down and it makes nice background music. My favorite "voices" from this CD are Nathan Pacheco and Leslie Mills. Nathan has a strong operatic voice and you can tell that he sings from his heart. Leslie's song Before the Night Ends is so clear and beautiful. I tend to stop what I'm doing and just listen--she is mesmerizing.

Online in my car?

When I attended the Mom 2.0 Summit in Houston there was a whole lot of swag and tons of door prizes to be won. I came home with a lot of stuff. The biggest prize I received was something called Autonet. I had never heard of it before and was unsure of what it was and exactly how I would use it. It essentially is the internet for your car! It was exciting to win and the people at Autonet have been so great to work with. One of the things I love about the people I have worked with is that they have been so helpful in answering all my questions. Since this was a doorprize, they had it installed in my car for me (wireless router- hidden under the driver's seat and attached to my minivan's 12v battery for power) and are giving me 6 months of free unlimited service. If I understend it correctly, it works using cell phone tower signals, so wherever you could get cell phone service, you could use the Autonet and have internet access in your vehicle! The autonet works when your car battery is on and has a range of approx 100 feet. Kind-of nifty. I feel sooo 21st century!

What makes me so excited about this is that I can give it a try and let everyone know how it is working for me. I just barely got it installed in my car last week and if the truth be told, I haven't gone hardly anywhere yet, but be on the look out for future reviews so I can tell you how its going. I am already thinking of the possibilities of being able to stay connected to work during the summer months while I run my kids around. I work from home and have flexible hours, but it is nice to be able to stay in touch with what is going on at the office, so I am hoping that even when I take my kids to their baseball & softball games this summer, I can stay connected for work. We are also planning a roadtrip soon and I am really hoping we will get some good use out of the Autonet then.

Don't worry, I won't be online while I'm driving. I'll make sure I at least pull over to the side of the road first...
